Toshiba White 13″ TV/VCR with Remote
The white exterior of this TV/VCR combo is a perfect match for any room with a bright color scheme, such as a kitchen or bathroom. As the unit is small, you’ll be able to easily carry it from room to room and fit it on a countertop without taking up vital space. And with the VCR built directly into the TV set, you do not have to bother hooking up a separate video player when you get the urge to watch a rented movie or tape your favorite program.
At the same time as the Toshiba MV13J1’s two-head-VCR picture quality is not on par with pricey four-head systems, this unit delivers as clean a picture as you would expect from a compact TV. In addition, this unit addresses a common problem among frequent video watchers–poor picture quality from rented videotapes. The cause of the bad picture is frequently that the rental tape is worn from a couple of viewings. Toshiba has tackled this problem with an innovative technology known as Rental Picture Plus (RPP). When enabled, RPP sharpens the picture to compensate for image loss. This is an optional feature, which we found to be slightly effective. On some videotapes that we tested, the image did appear cleaner–but it is worth noting that RPP did not have a significant effect on newer videotapes. Actually, with new videotapes, we preferred the image when RPP was once turned off.
