The plug-and-play JVC HR-S5901U VCR offers high-resolution recordings with Super VHS and 19 micron heads for better results when the usage of the EP recording speed. It has full editing features, including a flying erase head to produce seamless edits and smooth transitions, audio dub for adding a new audio track, and front-panel S-video input for better video from sources like digital video cameras. The HR-S5901U features JVC’s expansion technology as well allows you to make S-VHS recordings with your regular VHS tapes.

Benefit from the latest VCR Plus+ time-shift recording features so you’ll quickly and easily set up your VCR to record a program just by entering a Plus code found in most channel guides. A Cable Eye cable box controller is included so one can change your channel for you whilst you’re away.

The traditional jog/commute dial on the remote keep watch over provides you with full access to your recordings. Frame advance, variable slow motion, a couple of-speed search, and index search is at your fingertips. There’s a dial on the front of the unit, too. Active video calibration keeps your picture looking its best by automatically judging head condition to play at peak performance and take full advantage of the tape being used.

Inputs and outputs include S-Video, composite (front and back), and RF for connecting to the 181-channel tuner built in to the unit. Plus, A/V Compu Link provides one-touch operation with matching JVC components.
