The full-sized HR-VP59U comes with JVC’s Super-VHS Quasi Playback (SQPB) feature, which allows the VHS VCR to recognize and play back tapes recorded in the Super VHS format. This recorder is in a position for action–just take it out and plug it in. A color, multilingual onscreen menu simplifies setup and operation, whilst Instant Review permits fast, simple playback of timer-recorded programs.

The HR-VP59U features a hi-fi, 4-head design that provides you with crystal-clear pause and slow-motion effects, and its dual-azimuth construction uses 2 pairs of recording heads slightly than one, each and every optimized for a specific mode (one for SP recording, the other for EP). Pro-Cision 19-micron heads deliver the clearest imaginable picture when recording or viewing in EP (extended-play) mode.

Picture Regulate allows you to change the VCR’s four picture-technology settings: “Auto/Normal” enables the Active Video Calibration System; “Soft” reduces image coarseness when viewing overplayed tapes; “Edit” minimizes degradation all over editing (recording and playback); and “Sharp” provides you with clearer, sharper-edged pictures.

The HR-VP59U comes with front audio/video jacks enabling easy access for connecting camcorders, video games, or an extra VCR. One-year, 8-event express programming and a full-function remote with travel-plus functionality complete the package.
