The Honeywell MK3780-61A38 Fusion MS3780 barcode reader is gray, comes with a USB cable and a stand, and can be utilized to scan and decode linear one-dimensional (1D) barcodes. A laser can produce a single line of light for targeted barcode scanning or 20 lines of light in an omnidirectional pattern for scanning barcodes at different angles. The barcode reader’s USB cable may also be plugged into the USB port of a pc or another host system (sold one by one) to transmit barcode data. The stand adjusts to three positions and enables the barcode reader for use in a fixed position. A motion sensor automatically switches the barcode reader to handheld mode when it is picked up. The barcode reader weighs 6.9 oz. and measures 2.9 x 2.6 x 7.4 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) It can resist drops of up to 5′ on a concrete floor.

Some portable readers are small enough to be carried in a pocket or attached to a lanyard. Barcode readers are used at retail checkout counters and other points of sale (POS) locations and in warehouses and shipping facilities.
