This can be a 126 film format negative holder to be used with the Epson Perfection V550/V600 flatbed film scanners (US Patent Pending). This was once CAD designed and manufactured to be used with the obsolete 126 film format introduced by Kodak in 1963. Used commonly in Kodak “Instamatic” cameras, production of 126 film ended in 2008. 126 film was once in fact 35 mm in width so technically an Epson 35 mm OEM holder will work with them. The issue is that the image 126 cameras recorded was once square and was once also offset on the negative by 5 mm in height. Thus trying to scan a 126 negative in a 35 mm holder will result in cropping of the original image.
Specifications for the 126 negative holder:
Overall: 199 mm x 55 mm
Material: Solid Plastic
Features: Unlike some designs, this holder features a recessed channel to hold your negative strip firmly which can help keep away from scratches or trapped dust that other holders may cause.
This holder is designed to fit inside the stock 120 film holder that shipped with your Canon or Epson scanner. Use of an OEM holder is probably not necessary with your scanner, but it aids in proper positioning and helps keep away from blocking calibrations slots on the scanner bed.
If you are going to buy a couple of holders from us, we can adjust shipping charges after sale in order that your shipping costs are combined.
NOTE: Photos show top and bottom halves of holder. Only one holder is provided.
